KFRBS Scottish Artist

Katie Forbes is an illustrator, painter and mural artist from Tain, now based in Glasgow and we are delighted that she will be headlining our first art exhibition taking place in the Carnegie Hall, Portmahomack from the 15th to 17th September 2023.

Over the last couple of years, Katie has had three solo exhibitions and painted murals in Glasgow, Edinburgh, the Isle of Cumbrae and Palo Alto, California as well as collaborations with brands like Puma, Paulin Watches, Jack's Alt Stays and The Woom Room.

Katie is inspired by the autonomy of everyday life, Katie draws out both the humour and beauty in the simplest things, creating relatable artwork touching upon personal and intimate aspects of her life, such as anxiety and depression. By breaking taboos around mental health and bringing the humour out of darkness, this artist can have you laughing out loud while making you face your own demons. She has always believed that our pain is a shared experience, and by creating art she is able to bring us a little closer together and help us feel a little less lonely.

Window Art

We love the window art designed and applied by local volunteer Clair Wallace. A beautiful addition to Tain High Street.
