Long Story Short

Coral Allan

Platform 1864 is Tain’s former railway station which was built in 1864.

In 2015 it was converted into a bistro by chef/owner, Graham Rooney. The quirky rail themed interior is the perfect place to relax, buy yourself to a glass of wine or a cup coffee and enjoy a literary treat. Graham and his team have supported the St Duthac Book and Arts Festival from the very beginning, in fact Graham gave a fascinating talk called 'Long Story Short' about his journey restoring this historic building in 2021.

Check out who is speaking here on Monday September 18th.

A huge thank you goes to all our funders: and supporters of the St Duthac Book and Arts Festival.   In 2024 we were supported by the Scottish Book Trust: Birlinn Ltd: Beinn Tharsuinn Windfarm Community Fund (accessed through Edderton Community Council and Kilmuir and Logie Easter Community Council): Balnagown Estate: Port of Cromarty Firth: Global Energy Group: Glenmorangie Distillery, The Royal Hotel, CCAST and Tain YMCA, Thank you to TDDT for their continued support and to DUFI ART, Tain, for beautiful brochures, banners and posters. Thanks also to all businesses who have placed an advert in the Festival brochure; your support is much appreciated. Finally, to all the volunteers, sponsors, contributors, venues, local businesses, schools, councillors and individuals who support us in all sorts of ways, thank you, we really could not do it without you.
