Loop of Health, History & Hope

While you are waiting patiently for the St Duthac Book and Arts Festival in September we are delighted to share news of the Inverness Walking and Wheeling Festival for friend of the St Duthac Festival Mr Jeff Zycinski who delighted our audiences in our first festival in 2021.

The Inverness Walking and Wheeling Festival is a week long celebration of walking and wheeling from the 18th - 26th May 2024. Take a look at a film of the 2023 event.

Go it alone using the map or take part in some organised activities such as a Ghost Walk or Yoga in the Park.

Check out their website here for more information on how to access the activities.

The festival is organised by Partnerships for Wellbeing who have organised free Health Walks since 2004 and brings together nearly 30 different organisations to offer a variety of activities for different ages and abilities.

Their aim is to shine a light on the wonderful opportunities available in the heart of the Highlands to enjoy the benefits of being active outdoors!

This year they are launching the Loop of Health, History & Hope and are inviting walkers, wheelers and cyclists to explore the active travel paths circling the city.

Their colourfully illustrated ‘Loop Map’ will guide you to discover 20 different points along the route where you’ll find a QR code to see bird’s eye views of the city, and some historical facts about each location. Look out for pink elephants, Greek philosophers and some very studious swans…pick up a map and you’ll find out what we’re on about!

Window Art

We love the window art designed and applied by local volunteer Clair Wallace. A beautiful addition to Tain High Street.
